A stay in a 17th-century castle, set among vineyards in one of the world’s most distinguished wine regions
The experience unfolds in a castle built in 1696 for the Alfieri family, set within a historic wine estate with English gardens and sweeping parkland. Located just 90 minutes from Milan, the Langhe—now a UNESCO World Heritage Site—is known for its rolling hills, centuries-old vineyards, and iconic wines such as Barolo and Barbaresco.
Wine shapes the rhythm of the days.
Sommelier Danilo Ingannamorte leads intimate tastings and discussions that explore Piemonte’s soils, traditions, and winemaking craft. Visits to historic wineries and respected vineyards offer insight into the producers who define the region, with tastings held where the wines are grown and made.
Mornings are unhurried. Coffee and a relaxed European breakfast are enjoyed overlooking the vines, followed by time to walk through the vineyards, gardens, and surrounding countryside, or to wander into nearby towns. Optional hikes through the hills provide a quiet way to experience the landscape on foot.
Cuisine and wine are inseparable here. Chef Alice Delcourt prepares seasonal meals rooted in Italian tradition and guided by what is fresh and local. Hands-on cooking, pasta-making, and shared tables reveal how food and wine come together when given time and attention.
A rare highlight is the opportunity to hunt and forage for the prized white truffle, an uncultivated delicacy found only in select areas of northern Italy. These fleeting flavors are experienced through dishes prepared by Chef Alice and paired thoughtfully by Danilo.
Evenings center on guided tastings and slow, candlelit dinners—exceptional wine, thoughtful conversation, and the quiet pleasure of days allowed to unfold fully.
This is not simply a wine journey. It is time spent immersed in vineyards, craftsmanship, gentle movement, and the art of living well.
